Not everyone has this.  Not everyone has a family that thinks about each other and shares and cares.

Okay, and eats too much.

To have a family like this is to care about something outside yourself, beyond yourself.

The family cares about you when you might not feel worth caring about.  The family is hopeful when you are not.  The family is patient when you are not.  The family forgives when you don’t feel all that forgiving yourself.  The family laughs, when you don’t really feel like laughing.

The family is bigger than you are.  It was here before you were and it will be here after you’re gone.

In that way, it is a holy thing.  And we are in the midst of it today.

 We are very lucky.

"The only thing that can be below you is to not have a job… work until you can get the job you want to have."

It’s frustrating to hear when students can’t find employment after graduation. Start somewhere and work your way up. Waiting around for the “perfect” job is unrealistic and slows you down. With all the resources a university or college provides, and the free knowledge found on the internet, there is really no excuse. You are only as prepared as you make yourself. Find what you love to do and get there.

"I just don’t understand where the word comes from…..If I would have gotten a box of microscopes would I be gay?"

"Because you’re happy?"

"Yea."

hi guys! this is a comic i made for a final in my comics in literature class. we had to do a research paper on a topic we’d discussed in class and then accompany it with a comic with a relevant subject. my paper was about hyper-sexualization of women in comic books, but i decided to broaden it out here as well as personalize it and make myself the subject and discuss something i’ve been subjected to in the convention circuit and on the internet as well as thousands of other women, as well as give a cue to thought about how the comic book industry as well as the video game industry and even just media in general (all of which are male dominated) push such ridiculous pressures onto girls and women.

also, it feels kind of silly to have to add this since i hope it’s obvious, but i am very aware that there are men that don’t subscribe to this attitude, and am incredibly grateful that these issues are brought to light to people other than the ones that are subjected to it.

anyway haha i have literally been staring at this for 9 hours i don’t even know which direction is up anymore. thanks for reading!!!
